Say hello to Sue!

Of course, having all boys our family interests have been inundated with everything dinosaur. We have even helped unearth many fossils on several trips with a ministry called Creation Expeditions out of Crystal River Florida. So naturally being in Chicago, we were interested in seeing up close this wonderful specimen that is the most complete articulated T-Rex ever found and a magnificent testimony to the awesome power of our God and creator.

Weekend in Chicago

Sorry,I’ve not posted over the weekend, as you can see hubby and I were enjoying ourselves (a.k.a. without sons) in beautiful Chicago for five wonderful days. The weather was so pleasant we stayed outside a lot when he wasn’t attending his meeting for the International Congress of Implantologists. We haven’t gotten to enjoy travelling by ourselves in at least a year. I had a chance to get some counted cross stitch in and of course the shopping was awesome as well as the food! Wonderful restaurants.

Harvest Home

Another goodie that arrived with my Big Shot order was the Harvest Home Stamp Set. I’m just crazy for Pumpkins and when I saw that set I knew I’d just have to add it to my collection.

Here is a Thanksgiving card I made using the pumpkin patch scene stamp and practicing a watercolor technique with my Stampin’ Write Markers. I highlighted the pumpkins and trees in the background with a sprinkling of copper glitter to set them off and it really added a beautiful touch.

Recipe: Stamps used: Harvest Home, Holiday Wishes. Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Basic Black and Watercolor Paper. Inks used: Rose Red and Going Gray, More Mustard and Really Rust, Old Oliveand Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel, and Bashful Blue. Greeting is stamped with Basic Black Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Ribbon is 5/8″ Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

JUST ARRIVED!!

OMG I am so excited…my ‘baby’ has arrived!! I have long been a closet fan of my Sizzix, it’s one of the first large investments I made when I entered the world of scrapbooking and card making years ago. Can you imagine my excitement at convention when Shelli announced Stampin’ UP! has partnered with Sizzix to offer their Big Shot and also exclusive dies available only through SU? W-O-W! How awesome to be able to use this wonderful tool and all of it’s accessories on our scrapbook pages and with our cards…Creativity uncorked!

Here is a quick Petite Personal Notecard I put together using my Sizzix Impressions Basket Weave plate…

Sock-It-To-Ya Birthday Monkey

I’ve been busy making a bunch of birthday cards for hubby’s special birthday deliveries that our marketing rep does for each of his referral doc’s on their birthday accompanied by a special birthday cake. I knew when I saw the Sock Monkey Stamp Set that he’d be doing lots of work for me! He’s just so stinkin’ cute! I added some red stitches and used Crystal Clear embossing glaze to make him pop on the page. He’s sure to bring a smile to their face!
