Monkey Business

In the midst of our grieving with and supporting our close friends the Verett’s over the sudden loss of their son/brother Keller; our own youngest son, Colin, celebrated his 17th birthday Saturday. Now mind you, 17 isn’t usually a big deal for most kids, but since he will be getting his Drivers Lisence it became a big deal for him in that respect. We no longer exchange huge presents at this stage of life but I always look for ways to inject a bit of humor into their existence and couldn’t resist the bottle of MONKEY BUTT POWDER from TSC (a.k.a. Tractor Supply) when hubby and I were browsing for tractor parts Wednesday evening. It seemed so appropo because Colin (like his father) sweats profusely and he is easily spotted on the football field because he’s always the one with the most sweat soaking through his jersey. When it came time to participate in our customary Birthday dinner I realized that I hadn’t prepared a card for him…but thanks to a friend at convention (I think it may have been Gigi, but I could be wrong, or maybe Laura…it’s not marked and I have slept since then but my thanks to you, whoever it was!!!) I found the Sock Monkey card face in my stash, planted him on a card base, wrote an inscription inside, and VOILA! Quite a good pair I’d say! HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLIN RAY PRITCHARD!!!

It was me :) . I’m glad it came in handy – and it looks better on the Choc Chip card base! I’ll have to add that to mine too.

I hope Colin’s day was great!
