Happy Easter Monday to you! I hope your weekend was wonderful and that the good LORD blessed you and your family in many ways. We received some much needed moisture bright and early Easter morning…(so much for sunrise services, sorry guys!) but later in the day it was absolutely as pleasant as anyone could wish.
I thought I’d give you a peek at what I’ve been working on…this is from a set of needlework accessories called Williamsburg Remembered, designed by Catherine Theron. This is the largest of the five pieces in the set and is the Outer Cover for the case that holds all the goodies.
Laast month, by friend Barbie and I attended her workshop and had a delightful day. I had never attended a ‘workshop’ before and it was quite a lot of fun. It was a special treat to get to meet and talk with the designer herself, she was very generous and gave each of us a selection from her ‘stash’ that she’d brought along.
The pieces are worked on 30 count Northern Cross Linen which is also a first for me, and I kind of like it. It is a stiffer fabric than what I’m used to and works really well with the silk fibers provided for the piece.
There are some very challenging specialty stitches later on in the piece so please, do not expect it to be completed anytime soon…I’m hoping that by the end of the year to have it completed…(‘hoping’ being the operative word there!) We’ll just have to see. I will keep you up to date on progess from time to time, but for now I wish you a pleasant and wonderful week!
Enjoy the Spring, it only comes once a year!
Katherine

You can always take this and work on it while we have our “spare time” at convention…….I usually bring my crochet! But then again, not much extra time!!!
