A different Gift Card

Here’s a great little bag to give that next gift card to a friend in.  It’s so ’stinkin cute’ and easy you’ll want to make several ahead to have on hand.

2009-Birdie-BoxI cased the pattern from one I purchased from Crate and Barrell in Dallas.  My friend, Barbie, thought I was nuts when I started gushing about this cute tiny gift bag until she came over and saw what I’d done with it!  Gotta love those creative inspirations wherever they come from…can I get an AMEN?!

Anyway, I’m having a blast in Vancouver BC with darling hubby and another couple here on a dental continuing ed course, I’m just grateful to have some R & R before the FALL BLAST OFF.  I think it’s still over 100 at home, but oh well, we’ve enjoyed the cool days and chilly nights, Vancouver has been tons of fun with so much to see and do, I’d highly recommend it on your list of vacaton spots, I hope to return someday too!

I’ll post cutting and scoring instructions when I get back to TEXAS (since I forgot to write them down), so check back in a couple of days, until then…

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!

Bandie!!!

2009-Frisco---TreeMeet my ‘Little Friend’!  His name is Bandie.  He was brought to our ranch a few weeks ago by a friend of our son Brandon, to be ‘released into the wild’…yeah RIGHT!   As you can see, Bandie has other ideas about what and where the ‘wild’ is, and about where he belongs.

Currently he is living out at the barn and doing a fine job of housekeeping by keeping bugs and stuff picked up.  He is most curious with a capital C!  He literally never stops moving unless he is asleep.

Here he is discovering one of the trees in the backyard near our pool.  I think he might have been investigating the tree top for bird nests since the humming birds were diving at him something fierce until he came back down from his little jaunt.

He is about 4 months old right now (he was three when he came) and I suspect will be entering puberty sometime this fall…we’ll see if he hangs around until then.

He is really very sweet to play with, he loves sucking your skin, doesn’t matter if it’s a finger, forearm, or leg, just skin.  (Not sure what that’s about!)

What’s convention about?

Many of you have asked me ‘What’s convention about anyway?”  Well, let’s see…..hmmmmm…how should I put it?

1.)  FUN!

2.)  See #1

3.)  See #2

4.)  Friends…group-with-flowers1

This is the group of gals that I hang out with at convention.  I feel so blessed that they have ‘adopted’ me and included me in their week at convention.  From left to right they are: Dawn (Lorena TX), Maria (Florida), Laura (Houston TX), Nicholette (Houston, TX), Jen (Florida), Katie (Houston, TX), and of course ME (Crawford, TX).

We have such a wonderful time, sharing ideas, experiences, brainstorming, eating great food, and just plain having a blast!  It’s  fun that we all come from different backgrounds, have different perspectives,  different family issues, and yet we can have a wonderful week and walk away refreshed and ready for another Stampin’ UP! year.  The energy I get from them is priceless.  They have become dear friends and convention wouldn’t be the same without them.  I think about them often throughout the year and treasure our memories and hold them close to my heart looking forward to next year.

5.)  Convention is about learning new techniques and ways to enjoy and benefit from the Stampin’ UP! opportunity.

Convention is much much more than I could ever express it’s just something that has to be experienced.  You can experience it too with me next year by taking advantage of the Starter Kit Promotion that’s going on right now.  See my previous post from Sunday, 8-16-2009 for details.  I would love to share Convention 2010 with you!

Happy Stamping!

Once you have attached the banner panel you’re ready to tie on the pennants.  Here is what your finished card should look like…

This card isn’t as hard as it looks and I’m sure you’ll get that ‘WOW’ response from the receiver. It’s well worth a bit of extra time that it takes to tie things together!

I hope you have had a great week while I’ve been here at convention in Salt Lake City!  Our week is going by quickly and we’ll all be heading home Sunday.

THANKS for stopping by…Happy stamping!  Katherine
