Thankful for FALL Breezes

I know it’s really only September, but already there’s been a shift in temperatures. It’s not QUITE as searingly H-O-T. . .the breeze is noticeably cooler and not the steamy breath of hot air from July or August, and for that I am so ‘Thankful’…so I decided to show my appreciation and put together this sweet banner one afternoon last week.

2009-Thankful-Banner

I was excited about using the Stampin’ UP! exclusive Pennant Die (pg 200 of the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog) for my Big Shot with the new Autumn Meadows Designer Series Papers (pg 13) from the just released 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog.  If you haven’t seen the catalog yet check it out at the link on the right, there are some wonderful items to add to your fall and holiday must have list.

I am totally crazy about the ‘Big Shot’.  It’s absolutely the easiest piece of equipment to operate in my Craft room, and I love using up my scraps for 3-D projects and gifts as well as cards and scrapbook pages.  If you haven’t had the opportunity to get your hands on one, just let me know and I’ll arrange for a personal showing FREE!

Here’s what I used to make this great looking banner:

8 – pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 Chocolate Chip Card Stock folded length ways.
1 – 12 x 12 piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock cut 4 x 4 pieces
1 – 12 x 12 piece of Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper cut 4 x 4 pieces

Big Shot Dies:  SU! Pennant, Serif Essentials Alphabet, Scallop Circle

1 1/4″ Punpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Basic Jumbo Grommets Designer Hardware

Autumn Days Stamp Set with Versa Mark Ink.

You can order a special WEB OFFER ONLY kit for putting together your very own banner for just $15.00. (Actual Designer Series Paper will vary with each kit order)

New Addition

Just a quick note, things around here have just been about as hectic as anything…(like that’s a shocker?!)  What with back-from-vacation, back-to-school, back-to-embroidery guild…you get the idea.   Why is it that we continually think our time management is going to get better, more organized, more time for our stuff…oh well, I’ll just go on…

Ribbon-Spool-HolderRemember these odd looking thing-a-ma-jigs?   You may have seen one before once or twice and possibly even owned one when the re-cycling craze was first launching.   This is a Newspaper Log Roller, but I’ve found another use for it…it’s new home will be out at ‘My Bluebonnet Cottage’ for guests who might need  a snip of ribbon for a project that they’re working on.  They are mostly discontinued In-Color ribbons  that have been retired along with a few odds and ends.         I thought this would be a great way to use-up these ribbons since I can no longer use them in my workshop projects or club materials. Plus, it has a certain Shabby-Chic charm about it that I couldn’t resist.

Well, I hope your Back-to-school start is going well and you are a bit more organized than I seem to find myself right at this time, but yes, I know, “This too shall pass”!  I hope so, because Fall is knocking on the door and I just love Fall and want to savor every cool rich moment that comes along in the months ahead.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have an awesome week!
