Here is a quick tutorial on how to create the Distressed Heart used in the Valentine’s Day post:
I keep an old empty Stampin’ Mist bottle filled and marked with water so it’s always at hand. This technique works great with several other of your great Stampin’ UP! punches so be sure to have some fun and try a variety of them. (My Large Heart Punch has not yet been updated with our new style punches introduced recently, but I’m getting there!
Don’t skimp with the water, and be sure to spritz BOTH sides of your card stock. (Note to those of you who are tempted to use just any ‘ol card stock…it might just fall apart on you! I’ve had consistent success with the weight and quality of Stampin’ UP! card stock, but I can’t say the same with other product lines!)
Crumple, crumple, crumple…YES YOU CAN!
After you’ve sufficiently crumpled your card stock into a ‘wad’…gently, pull it open and flatten it to dry. Drying time is lightening fast when you use your Embossing Heat Tool! Just remember to use your tweezers or some other long object to hold it to the mat or you’ll be chasing it like paper in the parking lot that’s been picked up by a breeze!
There you have your distressed piece of scrap ready for the punch of your choice! Don’t be afraid to flatten it good, the crevices will remain and it will fit into your punch better if it’s not too bumpy!
There she is! Ready for your card or scrapbook page or your creative art project!
After all the time and money many of us spending trying to remove our wrinkles it’s nice to have a use for some of them!
Enjoy yourself and stamp someone you love a card and try using this Distressed Heart!
Blessings on your week!
Katherine
