Graduation Gift Card Holders – Gifts for the grad made with Stampin’ UP! scraps!

You can make simply elegant  graduation gift card holders using that extra piece of Designer Series Paper from your Stampin’ UP! supplies that you have on hand!  Your graduate will be so excited that you took the time to create a hand made gift card for her/him.  The smile on their face will say it all!

Our graduation gift card holders that I created are made using a leftover sheet of Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ UP! Our perfectly coordinated Designer Series Papers are available in sets of 12 sheets to a package, 2 each of 6 double-sided designs; most styles retail for only $9.95.  Each 12 x 12 sheet of Designer Series Paper will give you four lovely gift card holders.

I used Stampin’ UP! Whisper White and Pretty in Pink card stock to create the ‘belly bands’ to enclose the graduation gift card holders.  I also used the Think Happy Thoughts Stamp Set (pg. 144,  2009-2010 Stampin’ UP! Idea Book & Catalog) stamped with Stampin UP! Classic Ink in Old Olive and Pretty in Pink.

The center six-petal daisy is highlighted with a single Stampin’ UP! Soft Subtles brad in Pretty in Pink.

When you use Stampin’ UP! products your creativity soars effortlessly because all the guess work has been done for you!  The fantastic color palette that Stampin’ UP! uses is coordinated perfectly with all of their products.   Stampin’ UP! does the work so you don’t have to.

Also featured on the graduation gift card holders is the Stampin’ UP! Scallop punch, the 3/16″ Corner Rounder punch and the 1 1/4″ Circle punch.  Having the right tools on hand is so important to help your creations come together easily.  You will find all these great tools and more in the 2009-2010 Stampin’ UP! Spring Fling Fun! Make a card from paper and sticker scraps and leftover supplies

Every now and then there is a cosmic alignment that brings elements together in a most unusual way!  Today we took some things we might have thrown out but made a beautiful card from paper scraps, some odds and ends of felt, glitter, stickers, punches, rub-on’s, rhinestones and other leftover supplies.  The card we made turned out fabulous!  This is a great way to save money on supplies.  I didn’t have to buy anything extra to make this beautiful card.

Our card made from scraps is a suggestion of a Moroccan style All Occasion card that explodes in vibrant colors,  ending with that ‘WOW’ factor we all strive for in our creativity.

My supplies were leftovers from my Stampin’ UP! collection.   I only discard the smallest pieces of my Stampin’ UP! papers; you never know when you will need just a small amount of a color that will be the right finishing touch for the card you are making.

I used Stampin’ UP! colors:  Pixie Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, and Lavender Lace.  Rhinestone is from the Stampin’ UP! Circle Ice collection.

For more inspiration and creative ideas be sure to check my Stampin’ UP! website at: katherinepritchard.stampinup.net

From my Stampin’ UP! website you can book a workshop where you can earn free stamps and products while having a great time with friends, or shop on-line any time of day or night.  I think you’ll find that the superior quality of  our Stampin’ UP! products and reasonable pricing is sure to fit most any budget.

Have a blessed week and let your card making creativity soar!

Vintage Charm

I just love it when a project comes together!

Several years back on one of our last deer hunting adventures out in Coleman TX , on our deer lease, our son’s Addison & Colin dug up this old jar in an ancient dilapidated pile of what used to be a shed or barn structure.  It has an art-deco flare to it with three arches on either side and was miraculously intact and uncracked.  We stuck it into one of the storage compartments on our travel trailer and there it has remained until re-discovered the other day.

I was excited to find it because I had picked up a bag of various wooden spools last summer, on one of my ventures to an antique store in nearby Valley Mills, TX., while looking for odds and ends for My Bluebonnet Cottage.

The jar would be just the right container to showcase my spools.  After soaking it in some hot soapy water I was able to coax the lid off and clean the inside.  The spools looked just great and had found a home!

But, something was missing, it needed a little extra pizazz to really make it work.  So I added a lovely Shabby Chic Tag created with the Stampin’ UP! Charming Stamp Set.

I picked up color accents from the pale turquoise spool of thread.

Elements used are:  Bermuda Bay 1/2″ Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin’ UP! Linen Thread, Rhinestone Brads in Circle Ice Turquoise, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin’ Dimensionals for depth, Whisper White card stock, Soft Suede Classic Pad, Stampin’ Write Markers in Always Artichoke and Cameo Coral.  All images are from the Charming Stamp Set featured in the 2010 Occassions Mini Catalog. (See link in side bar for catalog ordering 24-7)

I hope you are inspired by this lovely project.  Home decor items don’t have to be time consuming or expensive to pull together.  A little creativity goes a long way.

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you’re having a great week!

A Rose by any other name…

One of my favorite stamp sets to play with has been the Stampin’ UP!’s Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set.  I love the abundant possibilities it has for multiple dimensions, making your projects more interesting and eye appealing.

Here’s an example from a fellow Stampin’ UP! demonstrator:

Using silver embossing on  Stampin’ UP! Pretty in Pink card stock on multiple images of the large rose stamp gives a dramatic effect when cut apart and assembled into layers using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The lovely centerpiece sits on a Stampin’ UP! Whisper White Sizzix Big Shot exclusive Top Note die with a Brushed Silver card stock Top Note layered underneath for a matching border.  For a finishing touch the Top Note is tied with a Stampin’ UP! Pink Satin 5/8″ square knot.

What a lovely card that’s appropriate for a  Birthday,  Mother’s Day, or a beautiful wedding greeting!

The Stampin’ UP! Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set, is one of Stampin’ UP! Two-Step into Spring sets available through April 30th at a SPECIAL 20% discounted price.  So, hurry and order yours today.

You can order yours at: Katherine Pritchard available 24-7 for your on-line ordering convenience.  Or if you prefer to email me at kpritchard@hot.rr.com, but hurry time’s running out on this month and this offer is only available until April 30th!
