Pennant Card

This bright fun card caught my eye a couple of weeks back and was CASE’d from a non-SU demonstrator but I have adapted it using all Stampin’ UP! products for one of my SWAPS at convention this week in Salt Lake City.  We’re having a great time getting lots of inspiration and ideas that I can’t wait to share with you when I get back.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Confetti white, Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper for girls pennant card OR Jackpot Designer Series Paper for boys
Stamp Sets: Sporting andVarsity Numbers
Ink: Bermuda Bay and Pretty in Pink  or Real Red, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin’ Ink.
Embellishments: Regal Rose 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon for girls or the Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon for boys; Pink  Sherbert Designer Button for girls or Playground Designer Button in Real Red for boys, Linen Thread

Cutting dimensions:

Bermuda Bay Classic Card size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Confetti White Panel is 4 x 5 1/4
Bermuda Bay small panel is approx. 2 1/4 x 3 1/2
Crushed Curry small panel is 2 x 3 1/4
Confetti White banner is approx. 3 x 1 1/2
Designer Series Paper for pennants: 2 1/4 strip

Cutting and measuring the pennants: On the back side of the DSP mark off 1 1/4″ hash marks off setting one side from the other and draw diagonals.

Cut along diagonals. Pierce corners and tie with pieces of Linen Thread and set aside, be sure to leave enough on ends to attach to card front.05-pennants

Stamp Varsity Numbers Star stamp on Confetti White panel using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink.03-stars

Attach star panel to card front.

Pierce Crushed Curry panel along edges and adhere to Bermuda Bay panel.   Use a sponge to distress the edge of the Confetti white banner.  Stamp #1 and ‘Champ’ as shown.    Attach ribbon with Snail adhesive and add button using glue dot.   Assemble the Banner panel before adhering to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Once you have attached the banner panel you’re ready to tie on the pennants.  Here is what your finished card should look like…

This card isn’t as hard as it looks and I’m sure you’ll get that ‘WOW’ response from the receiver. It’s well worth a bit of extra time that it takes to tie things together!
